custom antiX 19 Error loading backdrop image:"" No such file or directory. Backdrop removed.
okay folks so I've been working on my own custom 32 bit distro based on antiX linux. I made two releases without issue (except the usual, of course) but now that I'm trying to make a new build, every single time I do it with the antiX iso snapshot tool it comes out wrong.
So literally the only point of my distro is to be politically, ideologically motivated. One flaw which I'm able to overlook is conky not saving the distro name in the config files (it automatically loads conky at startup). But I just can't live with this error, I might as well not make anymore releases:
So when the system starts up, it loads my custom wallpaper for a few seconds and THEN says
Error loading backdrop image:"" No such file. Backdrop removed.
Given the fact that literally the only things I'm changing are the looks/browser homepage, it's unacceptable for me to release it like this. I've tried using so so so many different files, formats, everything in my power to get it to stop doing this and the same crap happens. It loads the wallpaper for a second and then gives me an error pretending like the file I just loaded doesn't exist. So infuriating. I have no idea what I could possibly be doing wrong. I tried inputting files with ' ' around the edges of the filenames, to point it in the right direction. I tried using " " around the edges of the filename which is required for some scripts. But mainly I just input the plain filename which is /usr/share/wallpapers/metro-station.jpg
The relevant section in my config file /usr/share/desktop-settings/wallpaper/wallpaper.ini looks like this
#THIS IS THE DEFAULT WALLPAPER, IT WILL SHOW UP WHEN THE SAVED
#WALLPAPER IS NOT FOUND, IN THE WALLPAPER.PY PREVIEW WHEN YOU
#HAVE RANDOM WALLPAPER, RANDOM WALLPAPER TIMED, OR NO WALLPAPER
#SET. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT YOU LEAVE IT AS IS, BUT YOU CAN CHANGE
#IT IF YOU WOULD LIKE A MORE APPEALING PICTURE
DEFAULT=/usr/share/backgrounds/metro-station.jpg
what could possibly be going wrong? I saw something on the puppy linux forum (and an antix forum thread archive that parrots the same talking points) but as I've explained that issue does not apply to me. And also all the wallpapers that antiX normally comes with are JPG format to begin with, but I tried using PNG as well and that didn't do anything at all, just gave the same error after hours of rebuilding of course.
By the way. When I make a "personal" build with the iso snapshot tool, it saves the background image but then it also makes you use the same username and password as the original system, which is totally useless and infuriating. LOL
