Broadcom wifi with MX Linux & antiX?

I enjoy using both antiX and MX Linux.

Whilst working on an Asus T100T recently, I noticed that MX Linux recognised the Broadcom wifi card (BCM43241B4) immediately but antiX did not do so.

I am just curious to know whether this is generally the case or was I just unfortunate with this particular and rather difficult hardware?

Different kernel?
MX ahs version also uses different firmware that is packaged from Ubuntu IIRC

anticapitalista,

Thanks for your reply.

The Asus T100T uses older hardware so MX Linux with AHS is probably not needed.

I understand that AntiX 22 has a slightly older 4.9.0-326 kernel than MX Linux 21.3 with a 5.10 kernel.

Would that older kernel account for antiX 22 not recognising the Broadcom wifi card (BCM43241B4)?

I suppose it could be that MX-21.3 includes some firmware which antiX 22 does not have?

antiX full ships with 2 kernels - 4.9 and 5.10.
The 5.10 one *might* work better.

Some firmware differences *might* play a role.
