[ALERT] Call for people

Hi MX users.

Distrowatch is maybe the most famous place where to look for GNU/Linux OS

MX-Linux due to the fact they use the time to make GNU/Linux usable for everyone also free as in free beer don't wasting time to reinvent the wheel like Elementary Solus or other (Pantheon, Budgie, etc.) but using what the old school GNU/Linux already brought and so becoming the second in Distrowatch hit ranking.

It's not only the second place which matters but the users' rating.
It seem that someone is trying to fake the user ratings cause it's a lot better then distro like Ubuntu and this can grab users.

Reading the last to comment it's clear enough so if you are an happy user of MX-Linux consider to post your experience and give a right rating.

I have nothing to do with MX-Linux developers I'm only a GNU/Linux enthusiast who likes the true GNU/Linux like MX even if I don't use regularly (I use antiX core) it.

Donate some minutes to spread the truth.

Thanks a lot indeed to everyone.

This is not clever. There were two bad reviews. The sky is not falling in, and a call to arms to influence DistroWatch rankings is an uncalled-for knee-jerk reaction.

Also, please don't bad mouth other distros. We all use different distros for different reasons and we're all Linux fans.

I don't want to influence, I want only the plain truth about a distro and I've only explained how MX team is acting.

Does reinvet the wheel make sense to you?

To me not.

I have nothing to with MX but good efforts should be rcognised and nothing is better then true user opinion.

It's not only fore the last two comments, take time to read all comments to say like Stallman I find a lot of bullshits.
This is not clever. IMHO

MX Linux has a rating of 9.2 after 710 reviews. A couple of bad reviews come along and suddenly you panic and try to get people to go on and say how great MX Linux is. It doesn't need that - it will get on perfectly well without it. Some people won't like MX Linux, you're just going to have to live with that fact.

You say you're "not trying to influence". Well to me that looks *exactly* what you're trying to do. I'm not a great fan of when folk try to load polls or surveys. They should be organic, with opinions added as people see fit, not when someone comes along with their call to action.

MX Linux will achieve success because it is a good distro, not because of any ranking on DistroWatch. Just leave it to succeed. What you risk doing instead is alienating folk like me by showing us that you have insufficient confidence in the distro that you feel the need to artificially increase its ranking.

I'm from the old school that one should throw out the best and the worst and average the remaining.

I agree with hydrurga that what you are asking is a bad idea. You don't even know that everyone here at LQ will give MX a high rating and there are enough fake ratings around that many probably do not read them or let them influence there choice anyway.

MX Linux has plenty good reputation, everywhere.

forcing good reviews can only worsen that reputation (like those amazon reviews you just know are fake).
