Installing BOINC on 64-bit 4MLinux

I have installed the 1 September release of 4MServer-26.0-64bit.iso and 4MLinux is running fine - I'm very impressed by the speed

I would like to add BOINC to run a distributed computing project. Is this possible? Has anyone got BOINC working on 4MLinux?

At the BOINC website, I was offered a download of boinc_7.2.42_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh, which installed fine, terminating with the instruction to run the BOINC manager by running:
Code:
/root/Downloads/BOINC/run_manager
However, when I run it I get:
Quote:
root@4MLinux:~$ /root/Downloads/BOINC/run_manager
./boincmgr: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_html-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
Given that 4MLinux is based on debian, would I just be able to lift this file from a debian distribution? - but if so, where in the 4MLinux file system should it be placed?

Thanks in anticipation
Alan

4MLinux is an independent distro. And it looks that some wxWidgets libraries are missing.

There is a big chance that the Windows version:
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_...s_intelx86.exe
may work well.

If you do not have Wine, you can install here: Menu > Extension > Wine

.
