Upstream Shapping


I am using OpenBSD 3.5 and i 've shapped the downstream with pf/altq.

How can i shape in the shame way my upstream?

I have no experience using pf/altq but if it's a router/gateway you are using to shaping the bandwidth can't you just shape the thraffic on the internal interface?

altq really only "shapes" upstream traffic if you think about it. You can't limit the rate at which traffic comes to you. You can limit the rate at which you reply to incoming traffic though, and that's what allows you to have some control over incoming traffic.

The same can be applied to outbound traffic to limit the rate at which it's sent. All the same altq features apply.
