This oggcast contains Matthew Garrett's discussion of UEFI and Secure Boot. It is the first explanation I've heard on the subject that really came across clearly.

Sniff, sniff... my first prolog "program" is complete. I decided to do a solution to the eight queens problem, figuring that no one has tried that one before.

Major disk trouble DRDY ERR and UNC error

Posted 11-07-2012 at 10:08 AM by error_401 (LINUX mostly DEBIAN - hardware and software)
Updated 12-18-2015 at 05:23 PM by error_401

Just happened:

Got a nasty error on my laptop running Debian Squeeze. Unable to boot further than initramfs with errors preventing the file system from mounting.

Nasty bugger. Seems to be a bad sector on my HDD. Causes several attempts to read and finally fails with
DRDY ERR and subsequent UNC error triggering the errors:
unable to mount rootfs etc.

Now trying with the installer CD-ROM in recovery mode. A bit nasty as I have unsaved data...

virtualbricks connect switch to local network

Posted 11-06-2012 at 01:29 AM by zhjim

We need a "master switch", a tap device, a local nic with access to the wide world. Have all your other switches or vserver (within virtualbricks) connect to the "master switch".

Configure your tap...

Just found out that Fuduntu is no more ... Jupiter is not being developed ... these things sadden me, Fuduntu was a great OS and it inspired me to spin Lubuntu to look like it for reasons I have done to death and Jupiter has been my number one package on numerous EEE PC 901's ... Fewt what is going on?

May 11th 2012

I have used Fuduntu in my business for the last 3 months and have really enjoyed the look and feel of the distribution...
