system hang while updating/removing lib32/systemd something is where i think.
i booted my sabayon for the first time since july, ran equo update then upgrade, and came back to the system hung and caps lock, and scroll lock blinking. tried to reboot and kernel crash, tried to boot with older kernel, same crash.
i spent a while trying to find a way to use equo to update for a specific time or date and was unsuccessful. i wanted to update to maybe september to troublshoot this.
restored a full backup from july. ran equo update, then started rigo. it said binutils, gcc and something else needed updating. i agreed. i came back in a while to the same hang and blinking keyboard lights. tried to reboot, and kernel crash.
restored full backup again. booted, and tried to run rigo, which wouldnt start. ran equo update, and tried to run rigo, and it was the same. tried to update rigo. entropy said it needed to update 10 packages, i said ok. came back 10 minutes later and it said at 37 of 150 something packages, came back later and it said updating 70 something of 500 something packages. came back later and same hang with blinking keyboard lights, but the last message in the terminal was removing lib32/libsystemd.something. tried to reboot, same kernel crash.
i'm about to restore a full backup again.

currently trying the upgrade from a funtoo linux, chrooting into sabayon. upgrade is spending all it's time messing with icons. this is total torture. i've seen this with some other upgrades through a chroot recently. it seems like every package post-install, wants to do something with every stupid icon on the system. hours and hours of running through icons, doing i don't know what to them.
edit. the update and upgrade finished from the chroot, and sabayon is booting and running fine. mounting the sabayon partition, --bind with the /dev, /sys, and /tmp, then "chroot sabayon bash --login", then equo update, and upgrade from there.
