In thunderbird mail, I've lost my "Read" and "Unread" button to click. How do i get it back?

You (AGAIN) don't tell us version/distro of Linux, version of Thunderbird, or tell us anything you've tried. Did you try putting your exact question into a search engine??? Where are these buttons missing FROM??? The toolbar (which you can customize)?? Because if so, you are missing those buttons because YOU removed them. You can reset the configuration easily...don't have to be a 'scientist' to do this research:

https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1369229
https://support.mozilla.org/gu-IN/questions/1348284

Again, you need to do basic research on your own, rather than asking people to spoon-feed you constantly.

I don't have Thunderbird, but I would start by right-clicking the toolbar and hope to find a "Customize" option, which would allow me to add or remove buttons.

Yep...was in one of the links sent. And most likely what the OP did in the first place.

The solution was given to me on another board, which is:

The Unread button is on the Quick Filter Bar (Ctrl+Shift+K) or under View/Toolbars.
