Not allowed Brave default browser

Clicked "Brave" as default browser. Went to settings/default applications - selected Brave.
result- hyperlinks will not activate. See screenshot message attached. Only Firefox allows?

I upgraded 16.3 OS to 17.1. (on laptop). 17.1 on other 2 towers allows Brave to be default, but not laptop? Menu options are limited too? Maybe 16.3 OS has properties still in place not allowing Brave?

That error is saying that "Brave" is not found. It's not "not allowed," it's not found.
Is Brave installed?
Compare the specifications to a working computer.

Zorin 16.3 to Zorin 17.1

Yes, Brave is installed.

The old 16.3 OS would not allow Brave either. The other towers I have on 17 OS allow Brave for default.
It's like the upgrade was somehow not fully like the installs I did from USB drive straight to 17 OS?

I did some research and deleted the Zorin partition.

I will re-install Zorin 17 from my USB drive because that OS is complete from the start and allows Brave to be default.

Thanx for the input everyone.
