linux cpu core speed application

I just updated my linux computer from 64-bit ubuntu 10.04 to 64-bit ubuntu 12.04 - a fresh install onto a new disk drive.

About a year ago I found some nifty little application that let me display 8 little icons on that bar along the top of the desktop, one for each core. Each would display the CPU core number it corresponded to, plus a speed - like 3.60 or 3.60GHz for example. I vaguely remember it was necessary to install some other application first, perhaps something called psensors or lm-sensors or something.

Anyway, I searched on the ubuntu software center application, and on the internet via google, but I can't find this application. Can someone out there remind me what is this application, and what apps need to be run to help it work? I installed the psensor and lm-sensor packages, but their displays aren't what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

That sounds like some screenlet, maybe CPU Governor.

AFAIK screenlets dont work with ubuntu 12.04. They might with xubuntu 12.04.
