berkeleyDB and sql engine, which one is better ?

I am thinking to establish a database one my system to handle a bunch of article and papers. However, I am very doubt in choosing the database.

I am very appriaciate BerkeleyDB, as it's standalone(running without server) and a very basic software for linux, as well. However, query with regular expression is complicated for BerkeleyDB.

Could someone give me some ideas ? thanks!

SQL is for relational databases; while BerkeleyDB uses a key-value structure.

Not sure i will help you, but you can use SQLite from http://www.sqlite.org, which is a standalone, embedable, and SQL-compatiable.

(EDIT: Soory, misread you post)

sqlite is really a good choice. However, it is not very well documentated.

I am using sqlite3 and i do not have any complaints about its documentation. (Can you tell me what part of documentation is not satisfying you, perhaps i may be of some help to you.)
