Where do find printer driver for canon iP7220 printer running on LINUX 14.0

Greetings:

I have a canon pixma printer, model iP7220. Where do I find a printer driver for LINUX. I am running LINUX 14.0. I have tried several supposed sources but they go nowhere. Does anybody have any ideas?

Canon's Linux support, at least in North America, is less than exemplary.

I could not find that printer at the Open Printing Database.

I have tried the suggested procedure: Download the appropriate files, Moved them to the Terminal, tried to use /install sh. It tells me "DENIED". What am I missing?

there is no operating system called "LINUX 14.0"

now there is a old ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10
and a old slackware 14.0 from 2012

you do need to be root to do that

If this is Ubuntu there is on real root account so use "sudo"

It could be that the script is not executuable until you set the executable bit.

What is the output of

ls -l install.sh

If the script is not executable, run the command, as root,

chmod +x install.sh

Also, as John_VV pointed out, it would help to know precisely what distro/version are you running? If you are not sure, you can run the command cat /etc/*release* (that's sort of a catchall; it works on most distros).
