can nmcli device status but cannot nmcli connection up


Dear all,

Code:
[root@ol76-12102 ~]# nmcli device status
DEVICE      TYPE      STATE      CONNECTION
enp0s10     ethernet  connected  enp0s10
enp0s9      ethernet  connected  enp0s9
enp0s16     ethernet  connected  System enp0s16
enp0s3      ethernet  connected  enp0s3
enp0s8      ethernet  connected  enp0s8
virbr0      bridge    connected  virbr0
lo          loopback  unmanaged  --
virbr0-nic  tun       unmanaged  --

but I cannot

[root@ol76-12102 ~]# nmcli connection up enp0s16
Error: unknown connection 'enp0s16'.
I display the interface but cannot up the interface, so how do i up the specified interface in this case enp0s16

Hi,

although the device name is enp0s16 seems the connection name is actually "System enp0s16". So try:
Code:
nmcli connection up "System enp0s16"

I do not use nmcli or nmtui but there is nmtui-edit you could try

otherwise have a gander at
