I need to play the video in Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. I can't find out why HW acceleration doesn't work. In Google Chrome I have HW accerarization activated.
4K video plays quite well in VLC, KODI, but in web browsers the CPU is almost 100% when playing video.
I also installed mpv, but the video plays choppy.
What specific log should I paste here?
Thank You

Why doesn't HW acceleration work with IGPU?
When I play 4K video in VLC, then the CPU is 25%, but I see lags.

HW acceleration does not apply in web browsers (Google Chrome 87, Mozilla Firefox 84)
Your messages are conflicting.
So it was all about Chrome, after all, and not about your operating system and media playback in general?
Because I asked about that, specifically, in post #2.
Funny now, because when I saw CPU used 100%, I thought to myself "OK, GPU isn't working."
If the GPU is working, the cpu has no work to do. If there's no/poor GPU, the Mesa driver 'swrast' comes into play and uses the CPU to drive the graphics, hence the driver name SoftWare RASTerizer.
I have a RazPi 4 with no GPU driver to speak of which sweats up on a 1080p video. When there's a GPU driver working, the CPU sits back. Even with integrated graphics, the cpu uses the lion's share of the wattage, so the GPU can't overheat any APU.
EDIT: I cross posted with

After reading the Intel spec page for the G5400, I wonder whether users with apparent problems are using DisplayPort or HDMI connections, or have tried both.
