Posted 07-07-2021 at 11:10 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

NEWS 210706 About LFS EXTON
I finally made Refracta Installer to work in LFS EXTON! Now you can install LFS EXTON to hard drive like any other Linux distribution. Just start Refracta Installer from the menu and follow the instructions. Watch this screenshot.
NOTE: You should create the install partition in advance. Use GParted for that.

The chapter that deals with setting up the kernel (Linux-x.y.x) is too limited in my opinion. I do realise that my extension is out-of-scope for the LFS developers, but I do think that many will benefit from it, especially if you want to tinker with kernels and their settings.

LFS 7.1 on Ubuntu 12.04

Posted 07-21-2012 at 11:33 AM by druuna
Updated 01-31-2014 at 03:23 AM by druuna (Updated to current situation.)

I noticed that a lot of people try to build LFS using Ubuntu as host and are struggling, this article describes how to make Ubuntu compliant, create the partition and lfs user and set up the toolchain (basically chapters 1 to 5.9).

Warning: The latest stable LFS version is not 7.1.
The information below can be used as a reference for newer LFS versions. Do keep in mind that steps/actions are probably (slightly?) different in newer versions!

1. nautilus (recently i used that, it was a simpliest way)
2. xfburn (i use xfce)
3. brasero.
All of them either hang or fall when I add too many files. Well, what the heck if I don't have any other choice? I need all of those files.
I was beginning to think about frontend to "genisoimage"... say, a GTK app, allowing to create an...
