The linux newbie!

Hello, i am the linux newbie, but i havent been using linux in a while, Xandros won't boot anymore :( But i have been using windows to make websites running on linux. Though, that doesnt make any difference than if my host had a windows server XD

    Did you make a recovery floopy during install? If you did then you can just boot that and re-run LILO or GRUB. I'm not sure about Xandros, but i suppose you can boot the install CD and get a recovery console (Slackware and most others let you do this) and the re-run LILO or GRUB. Or you can use Knoppix.

    Your situation is why you should make rhe boot and/or recovery floppy when the install asks you to.You should also be able to boot off the cd, Xandros has a recovery mode on the cd. If you had backed up your data either as a image or cloned a disk, this discussion wouldn't be happening. Knoppix as pointed out before is also an option.
