Kubuntu Blues

Decided after many years of being an Atari user that I should have access to an alternative to WindoZe so, scouted about and found Ubuntu (or Kubuntu)
I have had a working installation in the past with an Asus crosshair board but that board only had one out of two LAN ports working and no amount of replacements (Kudos to Kustom PC's for this) was to resolve the issue so...I moved on up to an ASUS MV32 something something (Kudos to Kustom PC's of Ayr again) and re installed Kubuntu Hardy Heron.
First problem was the lack ofwireless support which is a bad thing if you have just comitted your main PC to a wireless connection!!! There ensued a period of inactivity as I failed to resolve the problem first time around
