This is the first "blog" of any kind I've ever had, so it's probably not the greatest...
Just a little snippet about me:
I'd like to consider myself relatively tech-savvy; obviously I use Linux (Arch to be precise; K.I.S.S. FTW), and I enjoy learning new things about computers in general (both software and hardware-related).
This blog is mostly just for whenever I feel like telling the world about my experiences with computers/Linux (or just life in general), or just posting for the hell of it.

How can you not get depressed after reading this sh*t?

How do these men stand to get up in the mornings?
I don't understand how one can essentially devote their life to proving that effectively, no one has any real "control" over their lives. It's sickening, to say the least.
(Yes, I know that's a horrible exaggeration, but try to understand where I'm coming from here: a point of view which holds that no choice is one's own; no act is one's true, sole responsibility. A point of view where no conscious intention or desire is considered important any longer…)
If anyone wants to comment on this, please do so without flaming or harassing; my confidence/self-worth has already been proverbially crushed into a fine powder thanks to the above WP articles as well as other resources on the topic of free will (or rather, the lack thereof).

Did you choose to read those articles? And, having read them, choose to accept what they say as fact? And choose to allow such articles to have such a negative effect?

I's human nature to seek out conflict. It takes more courage to seek out peace.

What a crazy bit of irony...you yield your free will by accepting those arguments as truth.

Actually, I thought the "Free won't" to be quite enlightening. So many people go the path of least resistance that it could be an evolution to expand our minds to work on other things. But that takes the conscious effort to "free wont" the current activity and do more productive things. I challenge you to "free won't" look up this useless garbage and "free will" do something else,

Congratulations, you are always going to loose at living if you continue to think that way.

I again repeat, Mr Code, either get a girlfriend or get a job, you really need something to keep your mind occupied (with something other than determinism).
