Ubuntu 24.04 Files notification flag/indicator stuck

Hi,

Three days ago I transferred some files to my NAS. Since then a (1) icon has been loitering over the files icon on the taskbar. Does anyone know how to clear it? I can't see anything in Files app itself to clear it. It's been there through multiple reboots now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know what is it and why is it there, but I'm sure a reboot won't help on it. It is most probably a permission related issue (or something similar). We would need to know how did you configure your NAS, how is that drive mounted and how did you transfer those files.
Last but not least would be nice to know what does that icon really mean.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I transferred more files yesterday and the flag has disappeared now. I believe it is just an indicator to show the transfer is complete. One thing I didn't check (just realised) is the notifications panel next to the clock. Could be if I cleared it there it would have gone.

NAS is TrueNas, transfer by SMB. Mounted the drive by navigating to it via "Other Locations" and logging in. Just cut and paste the files as you normally would - nothing unusual I don't think.

I'll mark it as solved as it's gone away but if it comes back and I can't clear it again, i'll revive the thread.

Thanks
