X goes down...

When I'm in XFree86 then I CTRL-ALT-F{1,2,3,4} then go back to the one I was at, I just get a bunch of text on the screen and can't seem to start X again. Has anyone heard of / seen this or more importantly, know how to fix it? BTW, I've got KDE running (which is kinda slow  )

ctrl-alt-F7 will get you back to X... instead of ctrl-alt-F1 if i presume that is what your trying to do...

When you're in graphic mode, you have to press CTRL+ALT+F? to get to console mode (where ? is a number of your choice ofcourse). When you are in console mode, you can switch between consoles bij pressing just ALT+F? (without the CTRL key).
ALT+F7 will take you back to graphic mode. At least... that is most commonly used.
For myself i have 9 consoles, so my graphic mode is at ALT+F10.
