slack, ReiserFS, win2000

i got a new computer, a athlon 1600+ baby, and installed win 2000 on the first disk, then installed slack with reiserFS on the second. Now when i go into windows it is incredibly slow because it is trying to accesss drive d: (/dev/hdb) on which slack and reiserfs is located. When i open control panel i see that win detected the drive, there is a icon sayind "local drive D:" and its trying to read it but it is unable to because the second disk is ReiserFS. How do i make windows think that the second drive does not exist and thus make it go faster since it will stop trying to access that drive?
In other words i how do i stop windows trying to access the second drive?

Thanks in advance

Under Device Manager => select the disk drive => right click => properties => device usage = disable.

You can do the same thing under the admin tools menu (=> computer management => disk management => disk#...etc.).

Oh...are you sure that's why win 2k is slow?:p

Also you could go into the admin tools menu under services (local) & edit which services are started automatically at startup (e.g., telnet). I've also found that after a fresh install a defrag helped out (after you install all of those service packs! ).
