Recording in Slack 8.0
 

Does anyone here use Slackware to record music? I'm currently using win2k and Cool edit pro, but want to see if i can move all my stuff to linux. Are there any good multi-tracker records that run on linux? This would be awesome if there was! I ran a couple searches but I want to hear from someone that actually does this type of stuff on their linux machine.

There's a couple of 'tracker' progs around (see this thread). As for the whole 'Cool Edit Pro' thing...well, there's a few basic sample editors, and there's a project called GLAME which aims at becoming the Linux sound equiavalent of Gimp.

There's also something called Psycle, which is open software, but only for Windows at the moment. If you're into cross-compiling for different platforms and you want a challenge...
