You'll need to install alienbob's *-compat pkg

Mobile1 12-17-2020 06:09 PM

I have it installed:

The list below shows all packages with name matching "boost".

[ Status ] [ Repository ] [ Package ]
installed alienbob boost-compat-1.75-x86_64-1alien
installed slackware64 boost-1.75.0-x86_64-1

Thanks, this one solved my problem.

You either need a newer LibreOffice or grab alien's icu4c-compat package.

Alien Bob's current libreoffice package should link to the newer libicudata.so.68 that's in -current instead of the .67 that your existing package links to.

Thanks again,

This happens whenever current upgrades boost to a new version. Alien Bob's libreoffice package is linked against the version of boost current at build time, which in this case, was before boost upgraded to boost-1.75.0. `ldd /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin` reveals libreoffice-7.0.3 requires boost-1.74. Alien Bob is very busy, but will, no doubt, soon build a new libreoffice package against boost-1.75.0. Until then, koffice presents itself.

I think I only told a dozen times last month: install boost-compat.

LibreOffice drops the VLC backend (aka, The Christmas Grinch Struck at The Document Foundation).

Quote:

Remove vlc part since experimental since 5 years
However considering git history about vlc part (see
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreof...?qt=grep&q=vlc) it seems
there's no real patch since 2013 + it's been explicitely indicated as
experimental since 2015
See http://document-foundation-mail-arch...tt4293282.html

Of course if someone wants to keep on the work on it, it's always possible to revert the patch.
