So a mainline kernel... Should we have to wait the next LTS kernel for a 15.1 beta then???

There will be another mainline kernel after this one.

We'll see how this goes, but I've been losing my enthusiasm for the LTS kernels, especially as they still don't have that one line patch for amdgpu.

Is this the one that made games not work, if you don't have rebar enabled?

Yes, that patch you mentioned in the kernel thread earlier.

That's not a bug. That's a feature that ensures I'm productive. ;)

Happy to see this kernel in -current. If I'm not mistaken this means we should be able to install Slackware to a bcachefs file system.

Daedra 05-14-2024 03:38 PM

I am onboard for this, but after years of using LTS kernels in Slackware then moving to a release kernel, for a brief moment I felt like cheeseburger helper from Family Guy :) lol.

The kernel is new enough for it, but you may need to make a request for a bcachefs-tools package added in current to work with the filesystem (or build a package for yourself in the meanwhile).

I for one I believe that would be very nice if you stop playing with the Industrial and Android kernels... :hattip:
