Kernel can't find designated root partition
Hello to all who read!
I recently installed slackware 13.37 on my pc's external hdd (sdb) and I have hit a bit of a problem: Whenever I try to boot to slackware, I get a kernel panic message saying "Invalid 'root=' command, here are the available partitions: /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2" I checked the lilo config file and it pointed to /dev/sdb8, I also tried to boot it with grub. Any ideas? Thanks! |
You may need to add a rootdelay option to the kernel to allow USB/Firewire devices to settle:
