Help with initial boot: boot root disk

I made a boot disk using rawrite (bare.i) on a first floppy, then a root disk (color.gz) on a second floppy. I get my boot disk to load, then how do I get the root disk to load? I've searched on here and read the slackware book, I can't find what to do and its so frustrating! (I used mandrake before and am trying to switch to slackware but I'm still really new to linux, especially since mandrake did everything for me as far as the install goes). I know I'm missing something really stupid... thanks in advance!

When the machine is done with the boot disk it should prompt you to insert the root disk and press enter.

Are you getting errors? No prompts? Hangs?

Oh, ok, I get it now, I never even saw the prompt to insert the root disk, I get to the boot: prompt and hit return, then I get an error. I guess I need to try different boot disks... I'm going to go re-read the which one file and try some different ones.

I figured it out, I quick formatted my disk before I made it, so I went back and did a full format, remade the boot disk and all is well.
