buying a new digital camera...

Hi,

I was told Sony Cybershot digital cameras are
supported by GPhoto.

Can anyone give some feedback about digital
cameras on Linux/slack?

How about Fuji ones or Casio ones?

Any clue ???

thanks =D

The gphoto web site has a list of supported cameras, I suggest you start by looking at that and then looking at camera reviews untill you find what you want.

All the new Nikons and Olympus' use the standard USB mass storage driver as far as I know (I own a Nikon and it works very well). As long as they use the standard format and provide direct access to the memory card using usb then it should work under linux.
