Sabayon KDE AMD x86-64 2.6.29-sabayon - something worth trying.

Hello All,

I bought myself a new computer with an AMD processor on an ASUS M4N78 motherboard. KDE4 really looks amazing, especially in the color scheme Eveninig Lilac.
I have never seen a Linux distro with such sharp images and fonts, even in all web browsers, Firefox, Epiphany and Konqueror.

The most recent stable version is now SL 4r2 on KDE and GNOME - seperate disks. Unfotunately the full installation DVD with 4.1 and all the software has some glitches. It did not fully start on my AMD 64bit computer. It does work however in an Intel processor.

I installed this stable version 4.2 and had to add some main programs, but now with "equo" things are really so simple.

There is some good documentation.

How to update the package software:
http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.p..._What_to_do.3F

After that all I did was:
Code:

equo install k3b amule skype gwenview kaffeine amarok
To install Realplayer go the web page:
http://www.real.com/linux/
download the file RealPlayer11GOLD.bin, login as root, execute that progam and it will unpack the program adding it to the Multimedia menu.

Regards,
Richard
