Howto manually download and install Mandrake bugfixes?

I have Mandrake 10.1 and problem with usb-memory sticks. Konquerer hangs if the USB-stick is in the usbport. I believe that this problem is fixed in an update from Mandrake. My problem is that I only have modem at home and good Internet connection at my work and would like to download the updates with my work computer (win XP). But I can only find information how to do an automatic update.

To do this you would have to download the entire update directory for whatever version of Mandrake you are using at home, including the hdllist.cz file which usually lives in the directory above the one where the rpm's stay, and burn the lot to a cd, using the same directory structure as on the ftp server. By doing this you will get all the updates available since your version of Mandrake was released.

Then you can take it to your home pc, use urpmi.addmedia to add the cdrom as a update source, and use the Update applet in the Mandrake Control Centre to update your system using the cd. The only drawback to this is that each time mandrake release a batch of updates you need to repeat the process.

Your info says you use 10.1 Community Edition. There are no updates available as this is a final beta test version. Downloading the 3 10.0 Official CD images and burning them at work, then taking them home to install would be a better way to update your pc. There are quite a number of security and bugfix updates that have been released by Mandrake since 10.1 Official was released. You would be best to make an update cd the way I described above and use it after you've installed 10.1 Official.
