X11 - how to revert to a previous version

Hello,

I did an update of the X11 server a few days ago, and now some of my applications are not working anymore (IDL and ENVI from ITTVIS, if this is of interest to anyone). I get a segmentation fault when trying to display some data (images). Except for this, everything else seems to be working well...

Build Date: 08 April 2007
Build ID: xorg-x11-server 1.1.1-47.8.fc6

Before the update, it was:
Build Date: 28 February 2007
Build ID: xorg-x11-server 1.1.1-47.7.fc6

Is there a way to revert to the previous version? ... please keep in mind that I am a newbie in the Linux world...

I am running fedora core 6, linux kernel: 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6

Thanks in advance,
Jean

Now here is the real newbie question: how do I do that? ... I downloaded it, but if I try to install it, I have a message telling that a newer version is already installed on my computer... and I am a bit scared to uninstall it, as I have no idea of the consequences (blank screen??)

Thanks,

Jean

you can use this option with rpm --oldpackage
this will upgrade to an older version of the package
