Difference between DuckDuckGo lite vs. HTML versions?

They look different but function similarly.

I've read HTML drops SSL and J-script, while lite loads only about 33k, but not how they're different.

A web search for "duckduckgo lite" turns up a number for links. This one looks like a good place to start.

Thanks for taking a look. After searching with no answers, I'm wondering if someone actually knows. They look different.

The other search page: http://html.duckduckgo.com/html

I like this one with images and scripts off
https://duckduckgo.com/html/

This is all that you get on the search page:

The search results look like this:
https://0x0.st/oF9z.png

The lite search page:
https://html.duckduckgo.com/lite/

Looks like this:

And search results look like this:

Both are nice and lite, work fine without scripts, work in dillo or another minimal web browser.

If you want to know more, look at the source code for both pages. The search pages, and the results page. Use curl or wget on them and dump it to file.

Edit:
Oh, and different user agents will get you different results. On most all of the search engines.
