Port 1215

is there any danger in opening up port 1215? I cannot operate Apollon without doing this, it simply will NOT connect to FastTrack without this port.

Thanks,
-myk

your concern should be the security of the service that will be listening on that port, not the port itself...

STUPID/DANGEROUS = port X is open, a daemon with a known security hole is listening on it...

NORMAL/NOT SO DANGEROUS = port X is open, a daemon with no known security holes is listening on it...

NOT DANGEROUS = port X is open, no daemons are listening on that port...
