Problems with my laptop
 
I recently bought a Compaq Pressario 920EA.I setup RedHat 9 successful the X configuration are pretty good and the only problems i have is that even if i read the www.wsu.edu/~ice124 which says almost everything i compile the patch the kernel for the soundcard but no sound,also the modem is not recognized.I searched around the forums and there was no satysfying answer to my problem.The thing is :
How will i configure the two divices successfully???Any redirections to the www are welcome.

most modems in the laptops are winmodems or something called host controlled. the best site is this

search in this site for a driver for the modem.

for the sound too you need to get the driver
