Linux boot off CD
 
I have seen many versions of Linux that boots off a CD for sale in ebay for only a few pounds, I thought I might try one.

any recomendations?

I am in the UK, in an area with no DSL, and it would take me about a week to download it on 56k

You will take at least 20 min on DSL, so I doubt that you can get it right now! :D
