Streaming music locally
Hi,
I just bought a Yamaha receiver with all the fonctions possible, wifi, bluetooth, (server) ect... I manage to stream the music from one NTFS drive using (Windows 11 Media Player) to my new Yamaha receiver with the fonction (server) after setting up wifi on the receiver. (Not using Bluetooth). But i can not figure out how to do it that easy with MX-Linux. I am not looking at a NAS at this point. Just streaming from one music player on my MX-Linux to the receiver and its speakers. Help will be appreciated. Thxs |
Have you ever heard of KODI?
How about PLEX? VLC has both client and server features, but I am unsure if it would serve your purpose. |
yes, I would say VLC would do the job, almost the same way, just (obviously) every menu and option has a different name.
probably this helps: https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-stream-video-from-vlc |
Thanks
Thank you for your replies,
As of now, i could not set Kodi or Plex with my Yamaha receiver (SERVER, no content), but i don't give up yet... I will try with the link posted by Pan64. |
My motorcycle shop stereo with 250 watt perchannel amp tied into headphone jack with cheap adapter like so.

I finally made it to work with Jellyfin, could not do it with Plex or Kodi for some reason.
