changing splash screen

how do i change the sp[lash screen

the screen that comes with the boot loader

and also where are the installation pgm files,,,

i want to change the spash screen of the bootable cd

if the bootable cd is using GRUB, try 'splash.xpm.gz' in /boot. I'm not sure where the installation PGM files are.
