ubuntu/mate software I want GIMP!
I want gimp! I know on some distros there is a thing like a software center where you can search for programs and install them. That is a nice way to get things sometimes. I also know that if you download some kind of package then there is usually a package installer to do that for you after you download the package.
I am on Ubuntu / MATE I can't find a software center. Just software Updater, and a thing called Software & Updates. that seems like it should be what I want but it has tabs of where to get software like sources. but no list of software to get.
Does ubuntu mate have a software center? ifso how do I find it I have looked it seems all over??
Now if I go to gimp website downloads there is a lot of mirrors and places and they all have so many files and tar balls and stuff. I don't know what to get or do. I I don't understand anything about tar balls and stuff like that yet. I know if I could get a .deb package mabee I could install that with the package installer i did see on ubuntu mate.
Can someone help me get gimp safely without breaking things please?
