error when logging in

When I log into Suse 10.0, I get the the following error:

The Application "gnome-volume-manager" has quit unexpectedly.

I started receiving this error after I deselected /apps/nautilus/desktop/volumes_visible in Gnome Configuration Editor. Is there a fix for this?

im not a linux expert by any means but the volume manager I'm assuming is an applet that starts up when your comp does. aka the little speaker icon that u use to adjust your volume. I've gotten this error before and usually a few reboots worked for me. you can also try to take the applet off your bar and then put up another. instead of the gnome one. also it gives you an option to restart it correct?

No, volume manger is for the different partitions on the drive in your pc. Yes I have the option to restart it and does restart. I'm curious why I'm getting this error and is there anyway to fix it. Also, I noticed that my background isn't quite as clear as it was before I started receiving the error.
