server/nas unraid any experience?

I know couple people here have mentioned doing sbc/nas setups, anyone have any experience with unraid, like what's it like, how compares to just plain old nfs/nas?

I have not used Unraid. I looked at it a few years ago and decided it was more cost effective to install Debian or Fedora with the cockpit web interface. Managing disks with cockpit is about the same experience as Unraid, and cockpit is free. Containers(docker/lxd/lxc), KVM/QEMU/Libvirt virtual machines, raid of any type, disk formatting, diskencryption, a terminal emulator in the browser, manage network interfaces, manage vpn configuration, and pretty much anything that will run on Debian or Fedora.
