wireless network manager gui?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a wireless management gui tool that I can use with my clients' laptops. Kwifimanager does not work on these systems, and I have been unable to get NetworkManager to compile. Any ideas, or has anyone gotten one of these programs to work well on Slackware (10.2, 2.6.13)?

Thanks,
Brian

Kinternet worked for me on another distro.

I don't know if it is because my card makes a non-standard /proc/net/wireless, but none of those programs ever worked properly or completely for me. I tried all of the ones I could find.

I had the same problems before. You might want to try wlassistant: http://wlassistant.sourceforge.net/ It has worked well for me.

Thanks for all the responses!

kinternet seems to be suse-specific...couldn't find any sources

So I tried wlassistant first and BINGO, it works. Lightweight, install was effortless (just needed to symlink one library), on launch it automatically (and accurately) found the networks around me. Connecting and disconnecting to networks actually worked, too, including encrypted ones. This looks promising!

I haven't taken the time yet to install Wifi-Radar, but I will eventually.

Thanks again,
Brian
