Turkish fonts under gnome - Slack 10.0

Hey all. First off I must say this forum is great and have helped me out many times in the past. Thanks to everyone :)

Now then.. I've set up my slack box and as far as fonts go, I've got antialiased nice fonts, installed windows fonts and all, so everything is cool. One last thing is left though and that is i can't get turkish fonts to show. I am using the builtin xorg font server but can't for the life of me get turkish fonts to work. Turkish fonts have the *ISO8859-9 encoding and I can see fonts with that encoding under fonts/75dpi directory for example, but i can't find a way to change the encoding. They don't show up when i change my fonts under gnome or kde or anything else for that matter. :/ Can anyone help me out? Or maybe just point to some place where i can download fonts? I have the relevant directories listed under xorg.conf and /etc/fonts/fonts.local or fonts.conf files.

Thanks in advance

Ok problem solved. I was using gkb_xmmap to switch keyboard layouts. setxkbmap works. Stupid me.. Sorry to bother :)
