Nagios Daemon, PID not found but rc.nagios runs

i have nagios running just fine. does what it is suppose to. i just recently started using a webGUI addon called NagiosQL. In the tools it has the option to restart the service after you make your changes so they may go into effect.

when i click on this it says that the daemon is missing.
i check TOP and i see a nagios process running.

under /var/run/ there is no nagios PID.
i've looked at the php code that trys to restart nagios and it does appear to be looking for it's PID. Also in the settings file it asks for the nagios.pid location.

how would i go about having the nagios daemon create a PID file?

well i continued my search and i found it out.
nagios stores it in /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.lock
so i just pointed it there and, it worked.
