Gimp-perl problems

Hi!.

I intalled the dropline in my Slack 9.1, then I realized the perl plug-ins werent working... I runed gimp from gnome's console and it showed a lot of messages about not running perl scripts because it just couldn't see my perl, or it didn't find some module like Gimp::fu.

Well, i desinstalled the gimp packaged that came with dropline and reinstalled the one that comeon slack's cds. Now it doesn't show any message but still the perl plugins don't appear on gimp's menus. I tried and downloaded the xachvision perl plugin, copied it in my ~/.gimp-1.2/plug-ins dir set execution permisions for the file "chmod 755 xachvision", and ran gimp from gnome's console, and now it says that the "xachvision" plugins has alredy been loaded and that the gimp is skipping the file...

I open an Image (several indeed, I even open a knew 320x320 drawing and drew some line), clicked over the image and looked in the menus where the script says it should appear [N_"<Image>/Filters/Noise/Xach Vision..."] and it's not there.

Any Ideas???
Need more information? or I forgot to say something??? let me know.

Thnx.

Try downloading and installing gimp1.3.x or gimpPre2. I have 1.3 and although it may not help your problem, it is way better IMO. You may also want to try to install the latest perl packages.

the gimp that comes along dropline is pre2, and it doesn't have include perl script support. i just read that yesterday from gimp's docs.
