Unhappy rpm based distros booting error

Hello,

I've been curious about trying out an RPM-based distribution for some time now. Recently, I attempted to install Fedora on an old laptop of mine. I created a bootable ISO of Fedora Workstation (the latest version), but upon attempting to boot from it, I encountered the following error message:
Invalid image
Failed to read header: Unsupported
Failed to load image: Unsupported
start_image() returned Unsupported

I tried various methods, including using Rufus and Etcher, to create the bootable media, suspecting a potential bug in the official media creator. However, despite extensive troubleshooting and research, I haven't been able to resolve the issue.

I also experimented with other RPM-based distributions like Rocky Linux and CentOS, but encountered the same error each time. It's perplexing because this laptop, a Dell Vostro 3546 (Intel i3-4005U, 8GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard disk), originally ran Ubuntu 12.04 without any issues. Additionally, I've successfully installed and used many Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch-based distributions on it.

The only RPM-based distribution that seems to work on this laptop is OpenSUSE. If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any insights into what might be causing this issue, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thank you.

Seems to be a bug.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2113005

It just so happens that CentOS, Rocky and Fedora are all basically related so the same bug affects them all. Except for the repositories and maybe the desktop there is little difference between deb or rpm based distributions. Rocky is a clone of Red Hat so it is basically basically oriented to business. Fedora is more or less the development distribution for Red Hat and has a relatively short live span between versions.

Thanks for that bugzilla link, although I do find comment #109 rather chilling. Makes me think of a gorilla tossing a marmoset around.
