Thunderbird Enigmail Xenial Puppy GnuPG

hi,
wondering if anyone has had/solved this problem. i am encrypting email on Thunderbird 60.2.1 running Xenial64Puppy. I have the same setup on Ubuntu 18.04 and it works perfectly. I copied .gnupg and .thunderbird to my home folder in Puppy - same process I used to move to a newer laptop although from Ubuntu Mate 18.10 to Ubuntu 18.04. I have checked the dependencies and I have the "new" gnupg2 and agent installed. However when I try to decrypt mail I get "Enigmail Alert" GnuPG cannot query your passphrase via pinentry. This is a system setup or configuration error that prevents Enigmail from working properly and cannot be fixed automatically. Enigmail_2.0.8-1, gnupg-agent_2.1.11, gnupg2_2.1.11, libassuan0_2.4.2-2, libgpg-error0_1.21, pinentry-curses_0.9.7-3 and python3-gnupg_0.3.8-2. Thank you.

A second thing - hope it's okay - I have forgotten my username on the Puppy Linux forum and my password so can't recover it. Suggestion is to contact the administrator. I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Any ideas - THANK YOU!
