Locale for Belgium
 

I just want to let the developers know that there is no such thing as wa_BE for Belgium. It's in Puppy though.
There should be a Dutch (nl_BE, which isn't there) and a French (fr_BE, which is there). But what is wa_BE standing for?
Or is this meant to be the Dutch (Flemish) nl_BE locale?

Please check it out and preferably correct this.

wa_BE is Walloon Belgium

You have to install the locales into puppy to use them.

If wa_BE is Walloon Belgium, what does fr_BE stand for, and where is nl_BE for the other half of Belgium, that speaks Dutch?

Or should I be looking for a fl_BE file (Flemish) to get a locale that matches the normal nl_BE file

fr_BE = French Belgium ... the first link explains that this is not to be confused with Walloon, though they are very similar.

We're still talking about Puppy right? If you are missing support for a language, you need to go get it. When I last looked, Puppy didn't have a great deal of language support built in. The puppy wiki in the second link discusses this.

I copied the nl_BE files from Ubuntu to Puppy 2.17. Seems to work.

Mind you: the links on http://www.hispafuentes.com/hf-doc/H...OWTO/lugs.html for Belgian LUGs seem to be discontinued for most of the LUGs. Perhaps Linux is not that popular in Belgium.

Indeed, what I was talking about were the locales of Puppy 2.17, or better: the ones missing in Puppy 2.17.

Avez-vous ... could be he was asking if you have tried Toutout Linux. But, has not replied to correct my translation. Oh well... you've already learned that the locales are missing on purpose. If you feel strongly, you could report it as a bug.

Bug? Not really necessary, I think. I could use the fr_BE as well, because as far as I know the locale is for pointing out metrics, valuta etc., and although we have 3 official languages in this small country, that is luckily the same everywhere in Belgium (last time I looked). :D
