I already reported about the Ubuntu logo being outdated and got a reply from Jeremy that they don't plan on updating it anytime soon. I'm sure it's the same for Arch, and I don't believe Jeremy has changed his mind.
What you linked to is too wide to use in the left panels of the fora.
I'll vote when I know that the new icon can be, both practically & legally, edited to a usable size.
