Autodetect distro versions and adjust logos accordingly
Based on Issue 99, I am devising a plan to (just like LQ's Windows logos) tell Jeremy to get LQ to autodetect what distro versions LQ members have and adjust the logo accordingly
What do you think of this, Jeremy? I know you want to keep everything generic, but the Windows logos are adjusted to the version (95/98/NT/2000/ME, XP, Vista, and 7) that LQ members have, so why not do the same with distro logos?
An example would be Ubuntu: Have the old logo be for Karmic and below, and then add a new one for Lucid+, autodetecting the versions and using the distro logo based on the version. Mr. Code also thought this was a good idea.
As mentioned, we have no plans to attempt to autodetect which distro version a member is using. In cases where distributions have updated their generic logo, we will make a best effort to update the icon used at LQ.
