Some news from the MLED front
Hi,
I've been very busy since sunday morning, and I've spent long hours every day working on MLED 14.1. At the moment, I'm concentrating on this version, since this is the one most of my clients are running. I try to follow the one-dragon-at-a-time rule, so I'll only start work on 14.2 once 14.1 is OK. So what's this about? First of all, don't expect any dramatic changes like switching to a new desktop environment. Even though I pondered it for a few days, discussing the matter convinced me that this isn't a good idea. Plus, Xfce really works great on all my machines, and my clients like it a lot. So right now I'm working on all the little details like cleaning up the build scripts and the automatic build infrastructure. To get a vague idea, this is like trying to solve a Tangram puzzle with 250 pieces. Take a peek at this file to get a vague idea: https://github.com/kikinovak/microli...ce/build_order So far, more than 30 components of MLED 14.1 have been updated, though these are all on my local machine for the moment, and every single package has been properly rebuilt. If things go as planned, I'll upload the whole batch over the weekend, along with some instructions. If you wonder about my radio silence, it's only because I'm very busy under the hood. (I also have the flu, so right now I'm doing my best not to sneeze on the keyboard, but it doesn't get too much in the way of work.) Cheers, Niki |
Huge upload in progress. This is probably the longest ChangeLog entry I've ever written.

Nice, can't wait until 14.2 is updated. I'll be updating my PC by installing a second hard drive to use for my home partition so will be reinstalling.

Hello Niki,
I upgraded to the latest massive batch of updates for 14.2 64bit. Everything went fine and indeed font display looks crispier/clearer. Thanks for the huge work. |
