tickity, tick tick tick, repeat rate not changing for Keyboard (KB)

auto repeat is really slow on backspace, I notice it a lot in a terminal. this is when I am in WMaker, or FluxBox and alike. Now it's really starting to bug me, so...

I've tried using xset r 150 60 and various other settings in the cli to no avail.

Anyone with any ideas how to change it, as it takes 2 to 3 sec for each char to backspace off of the cli when holding the key down.

thanks.

As soon as I get my motherboard in the mail and change out, and my laptop back up and running I'll be sure to check out these suggestions.
Thanks

yeah got my brand new used Motherboard installed, and back up and running. now it seems that this issue is no longer an issue as it is now working as it should be, for whatever reason as the GPU fizzled out on me so its not a plug and play because it is a laptop. nevertheless, marking solved. thanks for your input nonetheless.

I'm trying, I just found a laptop that someone destroyed then tossed in the trash at the bus stop. So I yanked the WD 500GB and stick of RAM out of it, and getting the HDD back to working? maybe, it finally recognized it enough to automount and wipe the windows partitions but now I am repartitioning it for Manjaro and trying the UEFI that is in this BIOS, but partitioning and formatting seems to be taking some time and I am hearing the WD beeping? I think its the HDD as it is plugged into the USB Port. something is beeping ...

I've experienced Gparted working faster in some distros then in other distros. anyways happy weekend.

Oh, I wanted to ask you.....

I have to keep resetting the sound in Manjaro to Analog Stereo Duples to get sound in Pulseaudio.

Any clue on how to make that permanent?
